Loretta Chase is back with the second in her series of novels about the Carsington sons.
This one focuses on the very hunky, slightly flighty middle son, Rupert Carsington and his (mis)adventure in Egypt with the lovely scholar Daphne Pembroke (who happens to be a widow, an heiress, AND incredibly attractive - lucky girl).
There is much more to Daphne Pembroke than beauty. She's a talented linguist, a female Egyptologist in a time when men liked to think that their brains were the only ones that counted.
Rupert is her complete opposite. Oh, in looks, they are both quite handsome, but he seeks to be more...relaxed in his thinking. And of course, falling in love with Daphne is not on his "things to do while in Egypt."
Mr. Impossible is a wonderful Regency novel. Ms. Chase is back up to par after her so-so turn Miss Wonderful. Rupert is a great character, who tries to hide himself under an easygoing facade.
If you liked Ms. Chase's earlier novels, give Mr. Impossible a try.
